A taste of Cambodia with a 2 day and 1 night tour.
Fiona from London, enjoying the Kompong Cham riverside.

A minimum of one bike is all we need for this overnight trip.
Please note all prices are in U S Dollars. All prices are per bike. If you are traveling 2 up on your Harley, there is an extra fee of $25 to cover meals. If an extra room is requested, it will be charged at cost price, upon arrival at the hotel in Kompong Cham.
For longer trips you will be accompanied by a support vehicle, usually a Ford Ranger 4 door Pick Up. For overnight trips such as this, we travel with only bikes. This tour is highly recommended for non riders. One, two or more Harleys with experienced Expat riders will be more than happy to take you on your trip. Sorry, but unlike other bikes in Cambodia our Harleys are limited to just two people per bike. (I have counted 7 Khmers on the one bike before.)
About Kompong Cham
Kompong Cham is a sleepy town on the Mekong River approximately 130 kilometres from Phnom Penh. It has a handful of basic hotels, a couple of western restaurants/bars and is certainly not the place for party animals. What it does have is the only bridge in Cambodia that crosses the Mekong River. It is on the road from Laos (and the Freshwater Dolphin sanctuary that is Kratie) to Phnom Penh and Siem Reip If you insist your hotel room is 5 star, than sorry, this can't be done. Your hotel room will be the best available in Kompong Cham. You will have an air/con room, cable TV, a hot water shower in your bathroom, and a view of the Mekong River. You won't have a swimming pool, nor will you have room service.
You may meet a few backpackers and other tourists who spend the night in Kompong Cham as a stop over, you may meet the odd (sometimes very odd) Phnom Penh expatriate, who just needs to get out of the city for a night. You will however, love Kompong Cham for its beautiful scenery, laid back attitude and extremely friendly local people.
Day 1
Meals that are supplied: Breakfast*, Lunch and Dinner
You will be picked up from your hotel in PP around 8am. From Phnom Penh we travel to the Hog House, approximately 12 kms south of Phnom Penh*. Here a basic free breakfast is available. From the Hog House we travel north along the Tonle Basaac back to Phnom Penh. While riding through Phnom Penh the river becomes the Tonle Sap. We continue
North on route 5 to the village of Oudong. Here we check out the old Temples, it's not Angkor Wat, but it s well worth a look. We leave Oudong and soon after we cross the Tonle Sap by ferry. We then continue onto Kompong Cham. We arrive in Kompong Cham in the early to mid afternoon for lunch. We then check into our hotel. After some relaxation time we meet at the Mekong River Crossing, a western run bar, then cross the Mekong River for dinner at a Khmer Restaurant. To finish the day a few drinks at either Joe's Mekong River Crossing or maybe Simon's Mekong Daze. These are the only 2 places in Kompong Cham where you can be guaranteed ice cold drinks.
*On tours where guests are riding as pillions, there is the option of being picked up from your hotel at around 10am as no paperwork is required. (On these occasions, breakfast is not supplied)
Day 2
Meals that are supplied: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner (a BBQ).
We meet for breakfast at Joe's Mekong Crossing around 8 or 9am. After breakfast and a 10am checkout we head off again. We cross the Mekong and continue the loop back to Phnom Penh. We travel through rubber plantations and rice fields to the town of Prey Veng where we stop for lunch. After lunch we make our way to Neak Leoung. At Neak Leoung we cross the Mekong by Ferry and head back towards Phnom Penh. We arrive back at the Hog House well before dark. Here we'll have a few beers, a swim, a barbeque, finally a car trip back to your Phnom Penh Hotel.
The only cost not covered in the price is the cost of your own drinks after dinner in Kompong Cham. Every other cost is covered.
Cost of the Kompong Cham Overnighter tour is $425.
